Board Nominations November 2017

The annual election for positions on the 12 South Neighborhood Association board of directors will take place at our next monthly meeting, Monday, November 6th at 6:30pm. Terms are for 2 years.

There will be 5 positions on the board up for election this year. Nathan Hubbard, Kerry Conley, and Chris Cotton all have terms that are ending and plan to run again. Donald Thompson’s term is also ending. Mike Jobe is stepping down, and the remainder of his term (1 year) will be available.

We are accepting nominations for neighbors who are interested in serving the neighborhood with us, or nominate yourself by submitting a short paragraph that we can share with the neighborhood.  Tell us who you are and why you want to serve on the board. Send your nominations to info@12south.org by the end of the day on Sunday, October 29th. We’ll announce the candidates on Monday the 30th.

Board of Directors membership is a significant responsibility, requiring a substantial time commitment, attendance at 12 South NA board meetings, semi-monthly organizational meetings, and other important neighborhood events. Nominees are encouraged to review the association bylaws (https://12south.org/faq) regarding board member responsibilities prior to submitting/agreeing to the nomination.

Anyone who lives in the neighborhood is eligible to vote in the election. You must be present at the meeting to vote. Please bring something with you to prove you live in the neighborhood – a driver’s license with your correct address, a bill with your name and address on it, etc.

Thanks. We look forward to your nominations!
