12 South Halloween Parade

Don your costumes, and join the fun! The 12 South Neighborhood Association and the Moms of 12 South are hosting the 3rd annual 12 South Halloween Parade on Monday, Oct. 31, beginning at 5:30 p.m. This year, our special guest is the Hillsboro High School marching band!

We have a number of sponsors for this year’s parade. Mafiaoza’s and Southern Stars Montessori have graciously agreed to be our presenting sponsors, while our other sponsors include: Ladybird Taco, Christie Cookie, Burger Up, Euphoria Salon
Maker Construction and the Moms of 12 South.

The lineup for the start of the parade is at Sherbourne Avenue. From there, the parade will:

  • Head east on the 900 block of Halcyon
  • Turn left and go north on 9th Avenue
  • Turn left and head west on the 900 block of Montrose
  • Turn left to head south on 10th Avenue
  • Finish with a final left to head east on Halcyon and end at Sherbourne

Our hope with the new route is to make it safer so that no one will need to cross over at Kirkwood. Also, for the safety of our participants, the entrances at 9th and 10th of Halcyon and Montrose will be closed to through traffic along with the Sherbourne intersection at Halcyon starting at 4:30 p.m. on Oct. 31, and the street will remain closed until 10 p.m. that evening. Please make arrangements accordingly. If your home is on the route, we encourage you to put up festive decorations and come out to cheer on the parade goers.

All of our 12 South neighbors are encouraged to come join in on the fun. We’re also collecting donations for the parade and other community events and improvements. Your donation will cover the expenses, which include traffic enforcement, materials and entertainment. Donate by using this PayPal link.
