Hi Neighbors,
The annual election for positions on board of directors of the 12 South Neighborhood Association will take place at our next monthly meeting on Monday, October 3rd at 6:30pm. Terms are for 2 years and begin on November 1st.
There will be 3 positions on the board up for election this year. Daina Storey’s term is ending and she will be running again. Chris Koch is stepping down and will not be running for his seat. And one additional board member will be stepping down – see below.
We are accepting nominations for neighbors who are interested in serving the neighborhood with us. Please nominate a neighbor you know is interested in serving on the board, or nominate yourself by submitted a short paragraph that we can share with the neighborhood. Tell us who you are and why you want to serve on the board. Send your nominations to info@12south.org by the end of the day on Sunday, September 25th. We’ll announce the candidates on Monday the 26th.
In our September meeting, we amended the association’s bylaws so that 3 or 4 of the board of director positions are elected each year instead of 1 in even years and 6 in odd years. We think this will allow for more continuity on the board, less dramatic turnover of board members, and make for a better neighborhood organization.
Anyone who lives in the neighborhood is eligible to vote in the election. You must be present at the meeting to vote. Please bring something with you to prove you live in the neighborhood – a driver’s license with your correct address, a bill with your name and address on it, etc.
Thanks. We look forward to your nominations!
