Neighbors,
The 12 South Neighborhood Association wanted to pass along this information about the new Waverly-Belmont Conservation Zoning Overlay from Robin Zeigler at the Metro Historic Zoning Commission. If you have any questions about the overlay, we encourage you to get in touch with Robin.
Dear Waverly-Belmont Neighborhood:
Congratulations on your Neighborhood Conservation Zoning Overlay! We encourage you to provide the following resources to your neighbors via your newsletter, listserv and/or website.
Anyone can subscribe to receive monthly notice of when the MHZC agenda is posted online by visiting https://public.govdelivery.com/accoun…/TNNASH/subscriber/new. Typically signs are only posted if the property is being rezoned so the best way for you to know what is going on in their neighborhood is to sign up for the agenda notification.
Preservation Permit applications can be found at http://www.nashville.gov/…/Servic…/Preservation-Permits.aspx and the design guidelines are now at http://www.nashville.gov/…/Districts-and-Design-Guidelines.…. We highly recommend that you contact the historic zoning staff early in the planning stages of your project. We can provide feedback and recommendations for gaining approval before you spend money only finalizing your design.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you are unsure about work happening in your neighborhood. We only have one inspector so to some extent we rely on the neighborhoods to keep us informed.
I hope you will visit us at the Old House Fair, the first Saturday of every March at the Sevier Park Community Center. It’s a terrific resource for people who are looking to maintain, revamp or restore their old home. Visit www.OldHouseFair.org for more information about the event and our exhibitors.
Looking forward to working with you all.
